I have FT530 and a FT-51 and like them both.  I have used a friends FT-50R.  
The unit has both good speaker audio and good transmitted audio.  The unit 
is compatible with the Yaesu ADMS computer programming unit.  The one thing 
that I did not like was the small size of parts of the LCD display.  The 
frequency display was fine, but the letters indication what functions were 
set are very very small (the things you use when you are programming the 
radio).  I needed to use a magnifying glass.
