FT1000mp scan help

I am a DOS dummy and can now add MP dummy to the list.
I recently got my tentec transverter working with my MP and thought it would
be great to get the scan function to check the segment from 50.1 to 50.2.
I followed the directions in the manual for programming the P1-P9 memories.
The memories load OK but the lst direction doesnt work.
After loading P1 and P2 I go back to P1 and 'nudge' the tuning knob
(as per manual) and no scanning takes place.  As near as I can tell all
other scan functions work fine but I only want to scan a portion of 6.
Any help will be appreciated.
