[Yaesu] FT1000MP Processor RF Power Mod

I recently received the instructions for the "new technique." It is far
easier to perform than the original bulletin-- especially since you do not
have to remove the AF unit to complete it... Once I had the cover off, it
took about 2 minutes to cut a trace and solder in a jumper. It works
GREAT... I can now use the processor with my amp.

I have a copy of the print showing exactly where to cut one trace and where
to add the jumper. If you're a little skittish about cutting those small
traces and soldering to small pads, it's probably best to have the print
when doing the mod... I will see if I can scan the image and post it,
however, if much detail is lost, it won't be worth using. Ditto for
photocopying... It's BEST if you can obtain the instructions directly from
Yaesu via snail mail. That way, you're not working from a second or third
generation copy. Be sure to ask for the version of the "Critical Power
Adjustment using RF Pwr control with speech processor on" mod that does NOT
require removal of the AF unit.

It appears that the e-mail tech support from Yaesu has been disconnected,
so...

P.S. For those of you that have the latest MP's: I understand that they
do not need this mod.
