I have had a problem with my FT1000MP-DC with an Astron 35.  It chirps.  
I had a local repair guy look at it and he said it was working great.  He 
used a different power supply and cable.  My next thought is to replace 
the cable, but I cant imagine why it would be bad.

Then again... maybe a little chirp is just what I need to attract 
attention in the WPX contest.   Hmmmm.....
