[Yaesu] Installing filters in 1000MP? Help

I read a few things over the months abt installing the Collins Mechanical
500 hz in the 1000MP. Basically, so i get it right, when installed
properly should the printing on the filter(ie COLLINS) match the  other
Collins filter (ssb already there) or be opposite it ( upside down with
respect to the factory installed filters. 
What's a fool proof way, not to go wrong?
