[Yaesu] FT1000MP Filter Orientation

I just received my FT1000MP from HRO in San Diego and it was received by them one day before shipping to me. The S/N is 6H120030. Sounds like a date of manufacturing of Aug 1996. Is that correct?

Started to install the two 250 hz filters and the two 500 hz collins filters and discovered that they will go either way. The factory installed 2.4 khz collins filter is upside down to the illustration in the book, but is oriented the same as the silk screen on the board. The writing can be read upside down from the bottom-rear of the unit.

I looked at the circuitry on the collins boards and they are NOT symetrical (but orientation may not matter). I would appreciate any input on the proper orientation of these filters.

Also need to interface to old Heathkit SB-220 and manual is still packed away somewhere from move. Does it require any more than just running ALC and Relay Control Line and setting switch on back of FT1000MP to Linear ON position. I believe the Relay control line is the return side of a 115 VAC relay and sure don't want to damage the MP.
