[Yaesu] FT-1000D

Just got the FT-1000D. Any suggestions before hooking it up?
Any beginner's tips? Anything that I should bed aware of?

(Now have the FT-990, FT-1000MP, and FT-1000D which is about
 one too many...any suggestions as to which to sell?)
