[Yaesu] DVP board interface

I am interested in any input on interfacing the K1EA or W9XT DVP boards with
the DVS socket on the FT-990 or FT-1000.  Normally the interface is via a
multiple headed cable.  Seems the DVS socket is the way to go ala the DVS-2.
