The VX-1 is not a toy.  You'd be surprised as to how well 500 mw works.  What
I find is that I take my VX-1 places (work) that I'd never take my bigger
hand-helds.  The result, the VX-1 gets more use than any other hand-held I
have.  I wouldn't recommend it as your only HT, but it definately does have a
place in the ham shack.  BTW, the VX-1 does have DCS.
