[Yaesu] FT-1000/D NOTCH Control Anomaly?

Art,

Checked my 1000D last night and absolutely no difference when the notch
is off.

What I did was tune to a local broadcast station to get a solid (no qsb)
s meter reading (cw and ssb) and varied the control- no change.

Could not see or hear any difference on band noise either.
