[Yaesu] FT 1000mp DVS-2 Jack / QSOcorder interface

I am considering interfacing a WA9VNJ QSOcorder to the DVS-2 jack on my
'MP to take advantage of the audio control systems built into the rig.

Has anyone done this before?  Will it work?

Also, does anyone know: 

1) Which control input (CNTL1 or CNTL2) will force the 'MP to receive
audio from the QSOcorder? 

2) What type of input voltage is necessary on the control input to
acomplish the above?
