[Yaesu] FT-847 CAT Shortcomings.

I received the following from Laurent Labourie, F6DEX, wherein he =
comments on the FT-847's lack of some CAT features that are included in =
other Yaesu rigs. Laurent is the developer of FT-Manager, which is =
perhaps one of the more popular sofgtware packages for controlling Yaesu =
radios.

HI... But I do not think that Yaesu will update the 847 for now. The CAT =
system for the 847 is different. In fact retrieving the frequency is not =
usefull if it is not possible to have a dual control of the 847. When =
you enter in CAT control mode, all the front panel controls are =
disabled.... In this case FT-Manager do not need to read the frequency !

I think (but no body seems to be aware of this) that the major point is =
to remove the CAT control mode to have a true dual control... and not =
only to read the frequency.
