A good friend of mine in JA has found out that it is possible to
add bandpass filters of FT1000D to the FT1000MP, allowing
concurrent cross-band receive in the FT1000MP. Masa, JO2AJT,
obtained this information from the noted-below Yaesu Web page in
Japan, and he translated it to english.
I've quoted his translation below, along with the original
postings that motivated the research.
I don't have any further information about this, and I don't
have a FT1000MP so I don't have any more information about this.

>Today, I found out the technical information about adding BPF-1 to
>FT-1000MP, in Yaesu Web page...
>Yaesu said, in the web,
>FT-1000MP has individual two receivers in the set. However, dualband
>receive like FT-1000 (= dualband receive across two different bands)
>is not realized, because bandpass filter is not installed to sub-
>receiver in FT-1000MP. To realize dualband receive, Yaesu WDXC
>(World DXers' Club) developed special circuit.
>Special circuit is provided as an "External BPF Unit for FT-1000MP".
>It consists of BPF-1 (bandpass filter option for FT-1000), C-MOSIC
>4094 x2, Logic IC 4584 x1, EP-ROM, voltage regulator 7805, capacitors,
>registorx, switch, connectors, cable, circuit boad, troidal core, and
>etc.
>To install the BPF Unit, small modification is required to FT-1000MP.
>Yaesu WDXC accepts the orders of the BPF Unit and modification of
>FT-1000MP. Total cost is JPY36,000.- (excluding shipping and tax).
>***
>I phoned to Yaesu WDXC and asked about the BPF Unit. They said that
>parts list and other required data is available for any FT-1000MP
>users (but all documents are written in Japanese :-( ).
>Then, high-amateurs can construct BPF Unit by themselves and can modify
>their FT-1000MP (programed EP-ROM is available from Yaesu WDXC,
>JPY2,500.-).
>However, they said "Yaesu USA" can not correspond to this service. :-(
>Only Yaesu WDXC (JA) can support this.
It is OK for you to post this information to mailing list.
