[Yaesu] Mic Modification...

I have an extra Heil HC-5 element. Can I replace the existing element in
the Yaesu MH-1, which is the stock mic for the FT-990.?

I did take a look inside the MH -1.. It has two wires attached to the
positive terminal of the element... not sure what the second wire is
for.
