[Yaesu] FT-847 and Amplifiers?

Hi to all,

I am the proud owner of a brand new FT-847.  Love it so far.  Before I hook it
up to my Amps, a Ten-Tec Hercules II and a Titan,  I would like to hear any
advice or experiences.  Specifically, does it have the famous initial full power
spike? ( I don't own a scope).  If so has any one tried to get rid of it by
controlling output power by applying a voltage to the external ALC jack.
