[Yaesu] FT-757GX - likes ??, dislikes ???

Anyone care to comment on the overall performance of the FT-757GX ?  
Have one I may attempt to add a xtal filter to in the 455 Khz stage and 
need some advice.  Receiver performance especially interesting.  Also 
need to figure out if the xtal filter I plan on adding should be 455 Khz 
or shifted one way or the other for CW.  Realize the radio will not work 
on SSB that way, but that's OK.
