[Yaesu] FT-900 SWR and ATU

I have an ft-900 and the thing is when I am on 80M, it will not auto tune
with the built in tuner. It says the swr is too high. But if I just hit the
MOX it goes out fine and swr is only 1.4 or so. What is up with that??
Any help appreciated.
