[Yaesu] FT1000MP QSK/Serial Numbers

Can anyone tell me what the current serial number series is for the
 1000MP with the latest configuration?
 
 I had a chance to play with a friends 1000MP and the QSK seemed to be
 not as smooth as on the 1000D. It seemed to have more pops and thunks!
 Since he is mostly a phone op and I didn't to make any changes in the
 radio configuration I may not have give it a fair shake. Any comments?
