[Yaesu] FT-990 Problem

An unhappy event today... powered up my 990AC and only the meter area is 
illuminated. No response to any controls. Tried the microprocessor reset... 
and "Las Vegas" display routine. Nothing helps.. Fuse is OK. When I power 
up I get a little dull pop from the speaker.. but that's it!

Any thoughts??
