[Yaesu] Deaf FT1000D - HELP!

Hi,

I have just switch my 1000D on for the first time since CQWW 
SSB. It seems ok until I press the auto ATU button and although 
the ATU will tune the antenna there is no RX thru it.... It seems to 
hear OK if I turn the tuner off... Anyone else had a similar problem? 
Can anyone suggest what might have gone wrong?

When I say deaf I mean totally deaf.... no a hint of anything.... 
when I press the tuner button its like totally disconnecting the 
antenna..
