I have an FT890, not the 1000, but believe the connector may be the same, an 8 pin mini-DIN. Below is the pinout for the FT-890.  www.mouser.com has no minimum order, and carries it as stock number 171-2508 ( http://www.mouser.com/products/detail.cfm?MPart=171-2508 )

Band Data 8 pin mini-DIN
 1 +13v
 2 TX Gnd (pulled low when Xmitting)
 3 Gnd
 4 Band data A
 5 Band data B
 6 Band data C
 7 Band data D
 8 Linear (>+5 inhibits transmission)
