[Yaesu] FT1000 D audio problem

Hi everybody:

I am getting no audio through the main speaker neither through the
external speaker jack on the back. Audio is ok though out of the phones
jack. Unfortunately I think I shorted my external speaker plug with my
ground lead, which led to this problem . I have sent my query to the
yaesu on line tech advise, but they either do not respod or come back
with very untechnical and naive sugesstions.
Any clues.
