I decided not to bother, I changed the Control Unit board, 6.0
Version with no problems, didn`t have to adjust anything at all.

Hi Folks,

My friend recently acquired a FT1000D.  He wanted to know how he could
get the latest version of software for his radio.  Can he down load it
from the web or is it a IC chip that must be installed?
