Mike,

My FT-990 was shipped with v. 1.3  and according to the manual the following
codes are  used for setting the mode:

LSB 0
USB 1
CW 2.4 kHz 2
CW 500 Hz 3
AM 6 kHz 4
AM 2.4 kHz 5
FM 6 or 7
RTTY LSB 8
RTTY USB 9
Packet LSB A
Packet FM B

The returned mode data from  the radio should be in the range 0-6. The
filter bandwidth can still be set separately with opcode 8C.

I have not checked if the manual is correct. I have not been writing CAT
software since the FT-757GX and -767...
