[Yaesu] Making FT990 better

Hello,
I have the FT990 and really like the rig. I am considering to do
pin diode upgrade, but I don't know how. I have heard the diode
replacement makes a big
difference on RX. What improvement will I notice if I replace the pin
diodes? Also I have
understand there is a ROM/RAM upgrade. Any help, suggestions, ideas will

be appreciated. Anything more to do to make FT990 better?
