[Yaesu] Help for VXA-700 or equivalents.

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has a vxa-700 spirit handheld that is familiar
with the display.
Particularly looking at trying to get the blinking "s" in the lower
right to stop and/or turn it off.
I have read the manual cover to cover but I just cannot seem to find the
setting to turn that feature. What it is, spectrum scope??, I don't know
off.
I have adjusted the APO and receive saving features but no joy.

Any ideas?
