[Yaesu] ft1000 ver 5.84

I am currently running DxBase 2003 and an older ft 1000 rom version 5.84.
I have installed cat interface cable but am unable to use with settings inside DxBase 2003. I have tried TRX Manager which shows the ft1000 as version 5 and newer  versions as seprate cat programs. I have all use of functions with TRX manager but nothing but garbage from ft1000.

Can anone help?
