[Yaesu] FT1000d tranverter mod?

Hi,
I posted this question some time ago but didn't get any replies so here
goes again.
 
Does anyone have any experience of modding the ft1000/ft1000d to provide
a low level transverter port, or does anyone know of anywhere/anyone
where I can obtain details of such a mod? I am sure there are some out
there who have successfully added an output, but a search of the web
again today has not come up with any details.
