Hello Tim, I've reading your posts also on F.T. list; you may use 
calibrator signal for alignment of receiver RF stages. I do not know in 
yours, but some don't put enough signal on 10 meters bands.  It  does 
not matter at first if it's accurate on frequency as WWV standard. 
Anyway, try it.
