Yes the setting of menu item 7-8 was OFF vice the correct default ON.  I did
not associate "DISABLE VFO" with the problem when I first read the menu
list.

Problem cured.  Thanks to all. Great radio, worked 2 new ones this weekend
in the WPX.  44 more to have them all from KH6.

Pressing the SUB REC VFO LED switch turns off the MAIN REC VFO while the SUB
REC VFO is on.
