[Yaesu] FT1000

I have just got hold of a Version 6 IC for the FT1000, I have Version 5 in mine at the min, but I want to put a microham microkeyer onto the FT1000 but it says it need V6 to work properly, Can anyone tell me how to fing the chip in the rig?? I have had the top and the bottom off but there is nothing obvious where it is hiding
  Anyone done this ??
