Neither USPS Delivery Confirmation or Signature Confirmation are
package tracking systems. In fact, it is my experience that the
packages shipped on-line (Click and Ship or electronic postage)
are not scanned at the originating Post Office. They are only
scanned at the destination (delivery) Post Office and by the
delivering carrier. Thus, until a package reaches your local
PO, it can be lost in the system and never found.
The only service from USPS that is fully traceable (but not
trackable) is registered mail.
