[Yaesu] FT-1000D firmware upgrade

A search shows that this subject was raised last time in 2001 but it is unclear
to me how to obtain the upgrade.

An e-mail to Yaesu, so far, has not been responded to.

Mine, which I recently acquired, is of 1991 vintage.

The W8JI, Inrad roofing filter and K6JRF fan mods have been
installed or performed.

Can anyone shed some info on this?

In trying to get the CAT System to function, it appears that it is
not compatible with the existing firmware in the radio as indicated
by other sources.
