Found in good repair and setup with the necessary filters, an FT-890 is
a tough value to beat (yeah, I keep beating that drum).  That said, I
don't know how it would perform in a mult-multi situation, but we used
mine in several 'tests years back in a single station environment and
it performed very well for us.  I seem to recall that NJ1V, back when
he lived in the Oklahoma City area, used an FT-1000D for the main rig
and an FT-890 for the spotting/mult rig.

I bought mine in mint condition with the 2.4 kHz crystal SSB filter and
400 Hz crystal CW filter back in '99 for $800 and that included four
Pro-Am mobile whips to boot.
