Hi Guys

First - A null cable is not the correct cable. Any regular RS232 cable
should work - though I believe you may need a gender changer somewhere along
the way.

Secondly - You will need some kind of special software to actually control
the radio. This can be rig control, logging or other software. If you need
one that should work try downloading -

http://www.va3cr.net/software/Material/CAT-1000.zip

This programme will actually test and find your FT1kmp rig...

You should be up and running after using one of these pieces of software.

Once you have it working under this controlled situation, then you can look
at some of the other pieces of software.

I don't believe you can simply connect the PC to the radio using a null
cable. Check the wiring diagram for the radio to ensure you don't need to
build or purchase a custom interface cable.

Subject: [Yaesu] CAT Control on 1000mp Mark V

Just Purchased a FT-1000mp Mark V I am having some
trouble getting it to communicate with my computer.
Is there a secret to accomplishing this. I have tried
about all the normal things different ports, double
checked the port settings. I am kind of at a loss?

I have run the trouble shooting on the computers
ports and they are working ok. Is there a way to see
if the port on the radio is working?

Any Idea's
