[Yaesu] FIF-232C Interface

Can anyone help with a few questions re: Interfacing the FIF-232C to a PC. 

Xceiver: FT-1000D.  Software: Ham Radio Deluxe & DM780

1. Is a standard or null-modem cable used between the FIF-232C & PC? 

2. Pins 5 & 6 of the FIF-232C DB25 connector to the PC are pulled-up to +12V
by 10KΩ resistors internal to the FIF-232C. Pin 6 is DSR and pin 5 is CTS.
Should these pins be left as connected? 

3. The FIF-232C has a separate jack on the side which provides the PTT line
from the CAT connector on the 1000D. Should this PTT pin be connected to
RTS, DB25 pin4? Or.?

4. Should the CW keying jack "tip" be connected to DTR, DB25 pin20? Or.?

5. There is a slide switch internal to the FIF-232C that selects positive or
negative logic.  It is factory set (for multiple rigs) to negative.  Is this
correct for the 1000D?
