[Yaesu] FT1000MP Power Up Problem: Follow-Up

Thanks to all for your responses and ideas on and off the list.  
 
From all that, I'm afraid I'm heading for a power supply failure sooner than later.  I have a nice 20AMP 12VDC supply that's not being used for anything these days, so I decided to get the external DC cable for the 1000MP, which is available from R&L Electronics, by the way.  http://www.randl.com/ Yaesu Part# T9018320.  It just arrived today so I got it if things go south. Actually I am planning on trying out my MP with the external supply just to see if that indeed makes the very slow turn on go away, and I will also be ready if the internal supply indeed goes.
