I'm still using a FT1000MP MKV as a primary HF radio and as a IF radio for
2, 222 & 432.  Still works great for both purposes.  I like having the
extra power on HF and, if you pack it full of filters and do a couple of
Inrad mods, it holds it's own under crowded contest conditions.

The only issue I see is the lack of a decent noise blanker.  It appears
Yaesu let the summer engineering interns design the blanker on this model.
Compared to both my old standby FT1000D and my FT920 6M radio, the MP MKV
blanker is a disaster.  I've made a few mods to it, which helps some, but
in general, it's pretty useless.
