Comments: This is the first game in a long time that I set no
goal other than to have a good time - I didn't care
much about numbers and all that stuff. Did a great
deal of listening to others just for the fun of
hearing how they operate. And, that was FUN! Some
very talented players in this game. I tried CW for
my weak signal work going into and out of peaks (and
to get double the value) then switched to phone during
the peak periods. It was like surfing the waves --
radio waves; catching the Big One and riding it as far
as I could go -- then going back for more. When my
runs would slow down (but signals remained LOUD) I'd
rock the dial to slide up or down in frequency to find
(make) a better hole near my neighbors to eliminate
some of the QRM and pick up the pace. It was fun to
run the NE USA and then, all of a sudden, one or more
Europeans would pop up out of no where for a Q/M!
If you answered my CQ and I was slow to respond, I
was likely dusting the shack, balancing my checkbook,
watching football, catching up on QSL work or similar
activities during the slower moments (and there were
plenty) while punching the F1 key! Sorry. Is it
true that REAL MEN DON'T USE KEYERS!? I'm in trouble.
