Comments:

Quiet condx and nice rates Friday night. Some noise source from a northerly
direction reared its ugly head early on Saturday evening and persisted
throughout the rest of the night, even rendering the RX ant. to limited
usefulness. As a result, I spent a lot of time favoring the SE and SW
directions, where things were somewhat quieter, and missed a lot of NE and NW
stuff. For those that called but I couldn't hear, thanks for trying!

I remember the first ARRL 160 I did from WI back in '87 or '88. I hit it hard
both nights for around 650 QSOs or something like that.....and I think that even
made the top ten. Things have certainly progressed since then as more and more
ops realized you don't need huge land and huge antennas to make significant
noise on the Top Band.

It's also extremely interesting working the dedicated Top Bander types in every
160 event--ops that you never, ever work in any other contest.

Thanks for the QSOs!

And, as always, big thanks to John and Jean!

73, Mike K9NW
