First contest from my new home QTH, we just moved in Friday. The previous
owners let me put up my antenna farm last weekend - a Hustler 5BTV with
30 x 70' radials. I felt loud actually, the Alpha made up for the ground
losses....
Three days before I was to get my club vanity call, KO7AA, the FCC put the
vanity call program on hold, on the chance some hurricane affected ham had
wanted a previously unissued 7-land callsign and couldn't get on the FCC
website to apply. Maybe after the first of the year they say....
I missed VO, VE4, and North Dakota, the same ones I always missed when I
lived in ND. I've got a house on 4 acres now, time to start putting the
SO2R station and antennas back up, this weekend sure got the bug going.
I didn't even bother to check the aurora on sec.noaa.gov :))))
