Comments:

I did not have plans to operate the WAE RTTY contest but when I heard all the
signals on the bands I couldn't resist making some contacts. My IC-756 Pro III
was in the service center so I setup my Kenwood TS-950SDX again. (There's only
enough space for one rig at my temporary shack.) I didn't bother hooking up the
bandscope for the limited time I had to operate. I think the Icom has a slight
edge when opening and closing a band. The Twin Peak RTTY Filters can really dig
down into the noise to pull signals out. Other than that, this old Kenwood did a
great job. There were a couple of stations who maxed out my S-meter at +60 dB
over S9! I told VE6YR that I thought he was contesting from my driveway he was
so loud. I didn't get into QTC except for receiving one set from LTÃ?H. The
N1MM Logger worked perfect and I'll practice ahead of time for the next WAE.
