Comments:

Thank you to Sergio, PP5JR, and the Araucaria DX Group for the invitation to
operate from Boa Vista. Sergio's well engineered station that includes two
switched 15 meter antenna arrays (4 X 5 elements and 2 X 6 elements) performed
without fault.

Conditions were better than expected, with long path openings to central asia
and Japan. Propagation on the long path appeared to be at extremely low angles
with deep QSB fading. Working VU for the last zone was the highlight of the
contest. Lowlights included 249 duplicate contacts (approximately 2 hours
work) -- seemingly, a result from bad packet spots?

Most important, the active contesting community continues to grow in Brazil
following WRTC 2006. Please look for the young contestors, especially Sergio's
family of new hams; Beatriz (PU5BIA, age 12) and Eduardo (PU5FJR, age 11) that
will be operating M/S in the ARRL 10 meter contest as ZX5J.

Thanks to all, Oliver W6NV
