Comments:
I had fun and worked a few new countries in a fairly casual effort.
For the past few years I have spent CQWW CW at the VE7UF multi-multi with
Duane, Jim and the boys. This time I needed some quiet time and to sleep in my
own bed - but I did miss being at VE7UF - especially the antenna farm (and the
comaraderie).
I met my goal of 500 Q's at about 2340 on Sunday afternoon. I was surprised to
be able to do some short periods of quite high rate running late in the contest
after mostly S&P up to that point.
One of the features of contesting with a low multi-band vertical antenna is
that more stations can hear me than I can hear. This is a problem when running
and not so much for S&P. I always feel I should apologize to those stations I
should have been able to pick out of the noise - but could not. Sorry, guys!
Don't give up on me; I'll get a better antenna system some day.
Cheers and thanks for the QSOs.
