Comments:
Just the big 500+ foot horizontal loop with feed point at 15' here, a real
cloud-warmer on this band. Still, had fun and appreciate all the Q's in the
limited time I had to go at it. I am happy to say I probably worked most of
the stateside big guns and easy ones. Friday night I heard several Europeans
but faintly, and Sunday AM I heard a VE2 working a VK2 - good for him!
Otherwise I could never get Texas to hear me, or anyone West of Iowa or South
of NFL. Had to keep the headphone volume down and the attenuators up to try to
protect my hearing from the noise. In recent years I thought my tinnitus was
getting worse until I realized it's actually my hearing getting worse and the
signal to noise ratio dropping.
Looking forward to a bigger effort in the 10m contest since my low antennas
will be higher there (in wavelengths). Hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
