The band was smoking hot - that's probably why the final driver in my Icom 7000
burned up and gave out a wisp of smoke filling the shack with the smell of
burnt electronics and putting an end to my attempt to beat my previous high
score in this contest.
Only operated 3+ hours before the radio gave out and I don't have a back up
standing by. Good rates that first night, and I was excited for the rest of
the contest, but no luck. Thanks to everyone - seemed more like a 10 meter
sprint contest for me.
