Comments:

Thanks again to John Evens, N3HBX, for letting me use his contest station in
Poolesville, MD, again. I like NAQP - it never feels like you've worked
everybody and the 100 watt limit levels the playing field.

This was a tale of two contests. 15 and 20 were very frustrating - I only had
two ten meter QSOs, VA and DC. I tried to move several MD stations to 10,
heard a few of them, but couldn't complete a QSO.

I was probably a bit late going to 40, but I was really trying to extract all
the multipliers I could from 20 and 15. I missed several very easy
"close-in" multipliers on 40, including NY and NJ, since the band
went long very early. My first QSO on 40 meters was at 20:44. I should have
made a S&P pass through the band an hour earlier!

I tried to MOVE NY and NJ stations to 40 meters - even that didn't work. :-(

Then, the fun began. I never expected my BEST overall hour would be running on
160 meters with a few S&P QSOs on 80! I haven't operated NAQP much, but I
was planning on a couple of 30 minute breaks in the late afternoon and taking
the last hour off. Conditions on 40 and 80 were so good, though, that I just
operated straight through the first ten hours.

80 was great - I started running on 80 at 23:30 and felt like I was late to the
party! 160 was even better for an hour or so.

I tried in the last hour to pick up a few more multipliers on 40 - I should
have stayed on 160!

Hourly rates and section totals follow.

See you in NAQP SSB as a M/2.

73,

Mark, KD4D
