Comments:
I apologize for submitting this score a little late. Life has been hectic since
the end of the contest.
A huge congratulations to CR3OO and TI7W for some amazing scores this year.
For the 3rd year in a row, I operated from the ZF1A station as ZF2MJ. This is
only possible with the help of many friends, including K6AM, N6CY, ZF1EJ and
CARS and my wife KK6SCE. In addition, I have been very fortunate to have some
great support from Icom. Once again the IC7851's performed flawlessly.
This year, I decided to add a 3rd radio into the mix. After some long
discussions with John, K6AM on how I wanted to implement this, he came up with
a plan and provided me with some new secret black boxes. These allowed for a
fully locked 3rd radio as well getting audio just the way I wanted it. Due to
some station issues, I wasn't able to use it to its full potential this year
but I think I will try it again next year.
The conditions were not all that good. The low bands to EU were much better
than last year, however the conditions to JA were very difficult. Also, 20m
closed very early for me both days which resulted in far fewer Q's than in
years past. Despite all of this, it was still great fun and I am already
planning on making some upgrades for next year.
