-----------------------------------------------

This is my 30th consecutive year of participating in the CQ WWDX SSB contest.

Conditions were lousy. I have operated the 13 last consecutive years as an All
Band QRP category from my home station. This was my lowest score, lowest no. of
QSOs, and lowest total DXCC count in that time.

I only heard one European on Saturday. On Sunday I heard a number but they were
never workable and I had Zero Qs into Europe. Only 83 Qs were off continent.

My DXCC count was only 38 and total Zone count was only 18. All stats are the
lowest since I have kept these records over the last 13 years.

My best Qs were D4C on 20 and 15. This may not sound like much but I had not
been able to work a D4 this year, and I was delighted.

My op time as measured by N1MM+ was 22.9, but N1MM+ does not count hours without
Qs as op time, and I had a good number of hour long op times where I had no Qs!
5 1/2 hours of sleep the first night and 4 1/2 hours the next. At 79+ yrs old,
no more 3 hr sleep nights for me. ...I start to hallucinate!

So, despite the bad propagation I love this contest and can't wait for the next.
However, I need to get better at keeping the 3 and 6 yr old grand kids out of
the shack and keep the dog from tripping my VOX! ...HI!

73, and C U in the CW end! Bill Parker W8QZA - W6QU
