Eighty was hot, but I am having more amplifier trouble on 40 (only 7 QSOs there,
maximum output without squeals or chirps about 350w this morning). (Suspecting
the amp's internal automatic antenna tuner, last night I tried bypassing it and
using the manual Palstar; got 1500w but set off the smoke/CO detector at the top
of the basement stairs! What th'...?? Nix on THAT!) Went to 20 late and missed
the usual stateside powerhouses but was pleased to work Europeans.
